Every once in a blue moon, startling headlines trumpet the world s oldest secret has been found. Not long ago, the media announced the discovery of the world s oldest astronomical observatory. Now, I believe you are asking yourself... What kind of observatory was that? Well, long ago, when our ancestors realized that celestial events follow cycles, they wanted to find a way to track them. So, they began building structures designed to map these events. They devised a way to place stones in certain positions as to align for events like the lunar and solar phases. These structures are called ancient astronomical observatories. And one of the mysteries that we need to resolve is... The comparison in Figure 1 shows the number of children adopted by U.S. citizens in 1990 and 2001. It illustrates that the number of international adoptions increased dramatically during that period and also that the countries that the United States have been adopting from have changed drastically. Studies show that most of these kids do very well, but in a small but significant number of cases,†¦show more content†¦Adults’ close personal relationships share important emotional and behavioral similarities with the bonds that form between infants and caregivers. My family is counting on me as well. I will be a first generation student and I will not let them down because I gave into peer pressure and went down the wrong path. Not only does their attitude change, but their entire demeanor, the way they dress, social activities and friends. Also, for me being a young African American female, there are so many statistics out on the type of person I may be already, statistics show that I will fail.
